How it goes on
Clean, warm, swab, let it set, swab again.
For best results the barrel should be clean and warmed with a hair dryer or heat lamp. PbBlocker will work in field conditions without warming.
Clean
Clean the bore
Start with a clean barrel. Run your usual brush and patches until they come out clean, so the coating goes onto steel and not onto old fouling.
Warm
Warm the barrel
Use a heat lamp or a hair dryer. A warm barrel gives the best results, and PbBlocker still works out in the field without it.
Swab
Moisten a patch, swab liberally
Moisten a loose fitting patch with PbBlocker and swab the bore liberally, end to end.
Set
Let it set
Leave the coating in the bore and give it time before you run anything else through it.
Again
Swab again
Run a fresh patch to remove the excess. That is the whole job, and the next cleaning is the short one.
